Henrico County, Virginia, January 5th, 2014

The Henrico County TEA Party strongly supports 7th District Representative Dave Brat’s opposition to John Boehner as the returning Speaker of the House in tomorrow’s vote and challenges the rest of the Virginia Republican Delegation to do the same.
“In recent days and weeks, I have given careful consideration as to how I would cast my vote for Speaker of the House. I do not cast this vote as an individual, but on behalf of the citizens of Virginia’s Seventh District who sent me to Washington to act as their representative. While I like Speaker Boehner personally, he will not have my support for Speaker.
Washington is broken in part because our party’s leadership has strayed from its own principles of free market, limited government, constitutional conservatism. We are at a crucial turning point in our country’s history – do we truly want free markets, or does cronyism remain in place? Do we want the rule of law, or will amnesty for cheap illegal labor win the day?” Dave Brat
Congressman Dave Brat has stepped up and shown he is the Leader we worked hard to elect and send to DC to represent the people of the 7th District. He is the epitome of what a Representative should be. Therefore, We the People call on Representative(s) Comstock, Forbes, Goodlatte, Griffith, Hurt, Rigell and Wittman to follow the courageous leadership of Representative Brat and return to the principles of the Virginia Republican Creed. It’s time we work to fix a broken government with its backroom wheeling and dealings and return to being governed by the Constitution and the will of WE THE PEOPLE!
*If you are a Constituent of these Congressmen or have family or friends who live in their district, we encourage you to call their offices and tell them you want them to vote NO for John Boehner as Speaker of the House. Remind them of the Creed they vowed to support.

Virginia Republican Creed

That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,

That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,

That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,

That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,

That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,

That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fibre of the Nation.
